Brag bucks/Anniversaries/Birthdays:
Bob F. – Packer’s won by 3 in the last 2 seconds and is going to the game next weekend against Detroit.
 
Adam – just returned from trip with Jill in Dominican Republic and the trip was great. Food was great, golf was great, weather was HOT!
 
Club - Chris, Ann, Bob F. and Catti participated in the Lion's Club Grocery Grab this morning and placed 2nd in the costume contest (see attached photo). The winners of the Grocery Grab were Champion Ford spending $249.05. The object is to spend the closest to $250.00. All the food purchased gets donated to the local food pantry. Next year we need someone that can add with us as we went a little over our budget (we spent $335), but it goes to a good cause so decided we did good. :)
 
Upcoming:
Monday, November 4th – Fireman’s dinner – be at the Fire Station by 6:15 PM
 
Bob F. – Next month is Foundation month. Bob will bring papers next week in the event anyone wants to donate during the month. $6.5 billion in over 100 years raised.
 
December 7th – Kid’s Christmas at Bomgaar’s with Lion’s Club and Pella

  • Problem gamblers have the highest suicide rate among all addictions with 1 in 5 problem gamblers attempting suicide. That is 20 times more likely to consider and attempt suicide.
7 consequences that compulsive gambling is known to contribute to and have on society in America:
  1. Increased public debt
    1. An American mental health epidemic
  2. Increased crime rates in communities
  3. Increased public physical health problems
  4. Increased divorce rates
  5. Increased suicide rates
  6. Increased Veteran homelessness
  7. Damaged reputation of America’s favorite pastimes
Problem gambling contributes to the following physical health issues:
  1. Sleep deprivation
  2. Unhealthy weight gain
  3. Unhealthy weight loss
  4. Compromised libido
  5. Chronic pain
Consumer Principles for Responsible Play:
  1. Set a budget and stick to it
  2. Keep it social – play with friends, family and colleagues
  3. Be informed: learn the details of the games you’re playing.
  4. Play with trusted licensed, regulated operators.
Problem Gambling can result in:
  1. Financial problems
  2. Stress
  3. Legal problems
  4. Family conflicts
  5. Problems at work
  6. Emotional problems
