1/10/22 Carroll Rotary Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to action at 12:05 PM at Family Table Restaurant by Chris
Attendees: Chris, Catti, Bob F., Hubert, Bob W., John, Steve, Adam, Kim, Ron, Ann
Agenda items:
1. Speakers
- Adam to contact city, county, school board and Joel with DMACC
- Steve will speak on New Hope update
- Catti will get Dustin Katje with Pella and Janelle Kracht with Iowa Corn
- others to reach out to: McAughlin, Jeff Greteman with Windstar, Mike McCarty for Honduras Trip, Kimberly Tiefenthaler with Carroll Chamber of Commerce
Only speaker scheduled as of right now is on Feb. 7th = Julie Gore with Center Against Abuse and Sexual Assualt
2. Brag bucks:
Adam was able to have Christmas Party with his company and his oldest son got his first car loan.
Steve coached his grandson to wrestling championship in Baxter
3. April 22nd Celebration:
- Located at Santa Maria Winery - they will provide wine for dinner
- Lidderdale Country Store to cater (already booked)
a. need to decide on menu
b. need to let Brad know how many guests to expect
- Doc Martin is working with all strings attached to provide music during dinner
- Invites:
a. who do we want to invite? past presidents
b. need to mail on March 1st
c. RSVP will be by March 31st and will be sent to Catti
Other items of business discussed:
1. Memberships
- send survey to those that are already members to see what we can do to get them more involved
- do we need to change date/time of meetings or offer more meetings?
- once a month meet at a different location for a Rotary Social
a. Carroll Brewery is now closed
b. other options: Kerps, Mexican restaurants, parks in the summer months - open to all other suggestions
2. Housing Shortage in Carroll
- development group has been initiated
- need support from all groups in the community
Next meeting will be on Monday, January 17th from 12-1 PM at Family Table Restaurant
