Announcements:
  • Manchester Rotary club will have a guest speaker on the Opioid Crisis - Oct 16 @ noon at Fratellos
  • Sept 30 is road side pickup – Mike Griffin announced that we could use a couple more members. Please see him if interested 
  • Auction signs for the Bow Rotary Auction are ready to be distributed. (pick up one or more after the meeting)
  • President Judy presented Principal Adam Osburn of the BMS with a check for the Wildcat Habitat project.
  • No club meeting on Dec 22 but on Dec 4 all are invited to the Bow Library for a Rotary Board meeting (and bring prospective new members)

  • Rick Minard introduced past ambassadorial Scholar Nick Normandin and gives us an update of his activities
  • Peter Imse – had Father-Daughter day in Washington, DC and encouraged others to visit the city
  • Mike Griffin – celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary
  • Bryant Stevener – celebrated his 17th year in business and 17th wedding anniversary
  • Tamar Roberts – had friends from Mexico visit recently and is grateful their family is safe back in their home country after the earthquake.
  • Donna Deos – announced that the Belmont club brought in 6 new members
  • Dave Gazaway – spent 6 days in Vermont and at a car show – all to help support the cancer walk team
  • Bill McGonagle is getting a new Lath
Birthdays:
Nate Sanel was celebrating his birthday today – Great year for company (#1 in US) and son going to school in Vermont where the family will be moving.

District Governor Jonathan L. Springer
Jon is from Windsor, Vermont with wife Mary. He has a degree in Law Enforcement and became a Lawyer in 1988. The Board met with them Thursday evening at Paul Mercier’s home for dinner and the Board meeting.
This year’s Rotary theme :  “Making a Difference”
The Bow club raises about $35,000 a year and the district about $1.5 million with 210 projects. Oct 24 is Polio Plus Day and Jon would like Rotary member to consider having a drive to raise money for “Pennies for Polio”. Rotary International President Ian Riseley would like all Rotarians to plant a tree on Arbor Day April 27, 2018   (i.e. 1.2 million trees)
June 1, 2 and 3 are the Joint District Conference days at the Hilton in Burlington Vt. Boat tour on the lake (The Spirit of Ethan Allan), Jazz Festival and much more.
$750 per couple and $495 single = 2 nights lodging + meals + cruise
Gov. Jon gave Jon Ruggles a citation for 36 years of service and perfect attendance
Gov. Jon gave President Judy the new District Banner
