Announcements:
  • Christmas Tree Sales: Jon Ruggles /Gerry Carrier:  Trees coming 11/28. Wreaths that morning as well. Sign ups to come – need to figure out how. Bob Couch suggested via Google Docs in a shared folder. He can work on that today. Selling 10 days nights and weekends. They will need folks for setup of racks, and also delivery of trees for 11/28.  Trees $45, Wreaths $25 (last year’s prices). Proposes $30 for wreaths this year.  75 decorated ones coming. Need a sign. Jon Ruggles will make it. Bob Couch will write announcement for Library newsletter today as well. Money process discussed as well. There will be a supply of masks on hand.
  • Bow Rec Parade – still planning on having a decorated, lit tree in that back of one of Jon Ruggles’s trucks to advertise Tree Sales. Jeannie will help with prepping the tree. Signs and banners are being worked on for this too.
  • Raffle Tix – if selling at Tree sales we will need signage and a separate cashbox.
  • Fundraising Report from Gale – Sponsorships $5,600 so far. Raffle sales around $1,255. We are also ironing out kinks with credit card payments. It should be all set for now. Please continue to send checks to pay dues and such for now, until fundraising effort is over. Gale thanked Gerry, Bob Couch and Paul Mercier for all of their help so far.
  • Judy Goodnow – update on the Old Town Hall: ceiling repairs and painting are underway. Windows are in worse shape than we thought. They may need to be repaired down the road. Just painting them for now. Ceiling has been painted. She is working on wall covering options.  The Bow Times had a nice photo of Town Hall in yesterday’s edition. 
  • Mike Gula / Harry Judd – update on Scouting for Food: Food drive 13,500 units – an all-time record!
  • Chris Parkinson – looking into options for helping Amigo’s de Honduras since the area was hurt badly by the hurricanes.
  • Steve DeStefano – Interact kids making 24 pies that need to be delivered to The Windmill Restaurant on Wednesday. Dick Swett & Matt Gatzke offered to help. Meeting at BHS at 8:30am.
  • Matt Gatzke – Deb Bourbeau and Bow Welfare: He’s touching base with her to see what we can do and what is needed. Harry said Deb’s all set for Thanksgiving distribution. Could possibly use help for Toys for Tots with the Marines.

Happy Bucks:    
  • Karen was flocked a couple of mornings ago by 8 lovely flamingos – who are very cold. Neighbors are enjoying it. Karen tried to give them hats using socks, but they keep falling off. They are still naked but having a wonderful time. She is also happy her Dad, Henry, is 100 years old! She gave $100!!!
  • Donna (me) Happy $10 for having our Estate Planning in Order. We purchased a certificate at the auction last year so I could update my planning and Eric could get his done. Ben Kiniry has been very kind and patient with me taking so long to pull it off and we couldn’t be happier to have our own flock finally in place!
  • Mike Griffin – Talked about Zoom Fatigue. Roadside pick and Rotary Park Cleanup were two wonderful face-to-face events. He’s happy we have those options and Christmas Tree Sales coming up!
  • Dean Cascadden – interesting week at Elementary School Tuesday night a nipple let go on a 3,000 gallon tank. Drained the whole thing. Had to cancel school Wednesday to work on clean up and restore water. Last night after school they were notified they have a positive COVID case with a staff member. School is closed down for the rest of this week. We are trying to keep the BES open as per Dr. Chan it is one of the safer places for the kids. He appreciates the community support and their patience.
  • Jeannie Richards - $2 for Interact and Early Act being very active even during COVID. She’s very proud of them.

Gerry Carrier – Secretary Report and Bow Community Service Reports:
Attendance at 80%. 46 Active members, 5 Honorary. 4 under Rule 85. Averaging 36 members weekly.
Note from Michelle re Fundraising: $1,100 in raffle tix and $800 in donations. $6,600 in sponsorships. $10,000 in treasury from private donor from last year. We are in good shape.
 
Discussion that we would like to still see our Honorary Members whenever they are available. Honorary doesn’t mean never again.
 
Paul Mercier – Treasurer’s Report. $ coming in for auction/fundraising. Working on the card thing. Let’s just use it for Auction info for now as they info from the bank isn’t real helpful to know what they money coming in is for. Club side $17,000 ish money. Some held over for breakfast that is being held aside for now. Normal administrative Foundation side $36,333.32. $10k is restricted for Scholarships (anonymous donor). $500 annual from Berube Trucking restricted for Camperships. Being conservative for the time being as numbers and events are down due to COVID. We want to have money to help out when there are critical needs.
 
Joya Dennehy – Invoices just went out for happy bucks. Please mail in your checks for that.
 
Matt Gatzke – Administration: for the 50th – we are working on a way to recognize and thank the teachers for all they are doing.
 
Joya Dennehy – Club Service: nothing to add right now.
 
Matt Gatzke – Vocational Service – working with the schools to figure out what is possible.
 
Matt Dodge – International/Foundation: Chris P reported that the District Project Fair on Zoom is scheduled for the 19th. Dick is one of the presenters. Goal is to let all clubs know what projects and options are available to contribute to. No Amigos mission trip in 2021. Chris is planning to lead one in 2022. Dick Swett reported on his Sudan project. More on that in January to our club. He’s hoping we will be a host/mentor club to the new club in Sudan. He has an important meeting first week in December on this.
 
Interact – Dick Swett: they are very interactive and they are meeting at 6:30am. They average 20 kids at 6:30am and they are impressive and very engaged. They are conducting themselves very well!
 
Bank has the Christmas Tree to help needy kids. Michelle Olivier is recovering from surgery today so keep her in your thoughts. If you want her address to send a card, reach out to Matt Gatzke.
