Announcements:
- President Bryant made the first announcement of Joya Dennehy as a perspective member
- President Bryant announced that our annual Recognition Night is scheduled for Friday, June 14th at the Baker Free Library. This will replace that week’s Friday AM meeting and will begin at 6:00pm
- Nick Normandin will be our guest speaker next week
- Rick Minard gave thanks to those who volunteered to read at BES. Thank you cards from the students were placed on each of the tables as well.
- Dave Scanlan announced that committee assignments for the ’19-’20 Rotary year had been emailed out. Please take a look if you haven’t already and discuss any conflicts with Dave.
- Betsey Patten announced that invoices had been recently emailed to club members. Watch for those in your email in-box
- Dave Stack announced that the Rotary summer concerts at the gazebo will be starting soon. Expect to see signup sheets coming soon too.
- The Capital Center Rotary club is now at Delta Dental until 7/11 (Cityside Grille closed its doors). After 7/11, they will be at Kimball Jenkins. Meeting time is 7:00am – 8:00am

Birthdays:
- Today was our very own chef Sandy’s birthday – resulting in a well-sung rendition of “Happy Birthday To You”
Happy Bucks:
- Michelle Oliver was happy to have celebrated her youngest daughter’s birthday, as well as for a recent trip to Las Vegas in May.
- Harry Judd reminded club members that tomorrow (6/1) is the annual Boy Scouts yard sale at the community building.
- Karen Wadsworth reminded members that next week is “Bicentennial Week” at the State House. Lots of events planned throughout the week.
- Gerry Carrier made a public service announcement for Concord’s Market Days. Volunteers are still needed.
- Chris Parkinson was happy (details as to why are sketchy) – plus this year’s annual skit marks year 25, so Chris is planning a video “recap montage” to mark the event this year.
- Dave Stack’s nephew (Evan Vulgamore) helped his college (Quinnipiac) advance to the college world series in baseball.
- Bob Couch will begin his summer travelling soon, so we may not see him again until early November. Safe travels!
- Ben Kiniry recently turned 50 and was happy to have gone on a guy’s “man-cation”

Program:
Matt Gatzke announced our guest speaker: Jeanne Menard of New England Kanine Search and Rescue. She has been involved with the group since ’99, and Jeanne usually speaks before younger aged crowds on the topic of getting lost, but the topic fit right in with the Bow club.
Some of the things Jeanne mentioned:
- There are currently 6 certified handlers, and there are 3 training dogs currently in the pipeline.
- They perform 30-40 searches per year, and the major concentration is New Hampshire
- NH Fish & Game contacts New England Kanine Search and Rescue when assistance is needed
- A general search assignment can cover 60-80 acres
Jeanne brought a search dog with her and performed a quick demo of their teamwork. Blaze was able to find an item hidden beforehand and indicate to his owner its location.
