Rotary Sunrise Welcomes District Governor

District 7020 Governor, Jeremy Hurst and wife Michelle, kicked off a week long visit to St Thomas by attending the Sunrise breakfast meeting on Tuesday, October 8th. Rotarians, Interact officers from the Peter Gruber International Academy and guests listened as DG Jeremy talked of "building our District with vision". He encouraged our clubs' leadership teams to strive to turn the club over to a new president and board better and stronger than the year before. Meetings should be vibrant and members should feel like they're part of the best Rotary club in the world. Jeremy reminded us of Ron Burton's philosophy that says the more you put into the club, the more you get out. He encouraged us to put Rotary values into our everyday lives and when identifying potential members to remember that quantity should never outweigh quality.
DG Jeremy relocated to the Cayman Islands from England in 1987, joining the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman in 1988. He served as it's youngest president from 1995-96 and Assistant District Governor from 2000-2003. Jeremy and Michelle have fours sons and when not traveling in the 10 countries and 16 islands that makeup District 7020, he and Michelle enjoy time on their boat in the Cayman's North Sound. As one of 535 DG's throughout the world, he is proud to be a member of the “FIRST CLASS” of DGE’s under RI’s 2013/14 President, Ron Burton.
