Past President of the Rotary Club of Tortola, Nona Vanterpool-Bonelli, paid Sunrise a second visit after pinning her father-in-law Leonard Bonelli, at his June 19th installation as Sunrise President.
Nona’s second visit on July 17th was as our guest speaker. She spoke of the impact of Irma and Maria on the BVI and shared pictures of her own business and home seriously destroyed with windstorm damage and vandalism. She proudly spoke of the BVI Rotarians who, in spite of their losses, rallied around their Island to respond to the needs of the community. The recovery and restoration will take time and she sees opportunities for both the USVI and BVI clubs to come together in partnerships.
The Rotary Club of Tortola will be celebrating their 60th anniversary on August 9th with a Rotary Foundation dinner. Special guest will be none other than RI President, Barry Rassin & wife, Esther. A special thanks to PP Nona for paying us a very special visit and a huge congratulations to the Rotary Club of Tortola on this marker anniversary. Here’s to many, many more years of coming together in fellowship and service!
