RLI TRAINING ON ST. MAARTEN

Rotary Leadership Institute Sunshine Division, conducted a two day training in St. Maarten on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th at the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Hotel. The training was organized by the President of the St. Maarten Club Pierre de Celles, The discussion leaders was Incoming DG Diana White and Don Chandler from St. Thomas, Yvonne Crabbe, , Mary Finley-Jones and Vance Lewis from Tortola,

The training was well attended with representation from all Rotary Clubs on the island namely, Rotary Club of St. Maarten, Rotary Club Saint Martin Nord, Mid-Isles Rotary Club, Sunrise Rotary Club and a Newly formed Rotary Club from the BVI. During the two day session, topics discussed was Membership Retention, The Rotary Foundation, Leadership-Effective Committees, Creating Service Projects, The ABC of Rotary which shares interesting facts about Rotary International providing a guide for Rotarian of the history of Rotary its customs and traditions, and the current status of its global programs, also discussed was the newly designed Club Leadership Plan, but the topic that gain most attention from the participants was the Rotary Foundation whom many Rotarians mentioned they were not too familiar with. The discussion leaders was very impressed with the group and mentioned their satisfaction in the involvement of all present and would gladly come back to give the third training.
