Philipsburg:   The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise presented sets of Soualiga Posters to all elementary schools on Dutch St. Maarten.

The posters, which are an invaluable resource for the school's curriculum highlights the national symbols of St. Maarten.  The posters which are designed by Ms. Napolina Richardson and distributed with the assistance of the St. Maarten Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (SXM-ASCD) will help to stimulate and reinforce a sense of nationalism within our children which is essential in helping in the continued building of a sound foundation for Country St. Maarten.

Two sets of six was given to each elementary schools, which show and chronicle various symbols of our island such as our National Flower, the Courthouse, the NA guilder bank notes and the Treaty of Concordia. It is the intention of the Club to donate to every primary and secondary classroom on Dutch St. Maarten.  Thus, the Sunrise Rotary will continue to seek and raise funds to make this a reality.

The Rotary Sunrise Club would like to thank Ms. Napolina Richardson for initiating the project, the SXM Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development for their assistance, Rtn. Bernadette Davis, Rtn. Erik Dolle & Rtn. Marcellia Henry for following thru and making this project a reality.
