RC Sunrise President Claret Connor presenting Posters to ASDC Rep. Ms. Claudia Connor and Vocational Service Director Erik Dolle of RC Sunrise presenting payment to Ms. Napolina Richardson of the 'World of Learning" for the educational posters.

The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise, in its weekly Club meeting at Air Lekkerbek, donated 139 poster sets as contribution to the Soualiga Pos

The posters are designed and initiated by Ms. Napolina Richardson from 'World of Learning" and will be distributed by Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

Ms. Richardson had the experience that teachers are often times frustrated by the lack of cultural and historical information on St. Maarten/St. Martin. Because of this, Miss Richardson designed a set of 9 posters which show and chronicle various symbols of our Island. Examples are our national flower, the courthouse, the NA guilder bank notes and the Treaty of Concordia. Her idea is to have the poster sets in every classroom on Dutch St. Maarten.

The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise is supporting Miss Richardson in this endeavor and has begun by contributing 139 sets of Posters to ASCD represented by Ms. Claudia Connor.

ASCD strives to provide quality programs and effective services in learning and teaching for the success of all learners. The posters will be distributed to the Primary Schools by Rotary Club of St. Maarten Sunrise and ASCD and they will contribute to a better knowledge and understanding of the various cultural and historical symbols of St. Maarten/St. Martin. As such, they will help in the continued building of a sound foundation for Country St. Maarten. This knowledge will undoubtedly be expressed and appreciated by all of St. Maarten schoolchildren.

The Rotary Club of St. Maarten Sunrise will continue to seek enough funds will ensure and realize a set of posters to every primary and secondary class room on Dutch St. Maarten.
