World Teacher's Day was launched by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. It is observed to express gratitude for the contributions of teachers, who prepare children to face the world.
This year’s theme is "The change of education begins with teachers".
