Meet Our Greeter

Most Tuesdays as Rotarians arrive for their weekly retreat/meeting at the Moorings they are met upon entry with a broad smile and firm handshake!

Devione Joseph, a differently-abled young man, from the Eselyn Henley Richez Learning Center is the Rotary Club of Road Town’s enthusiastic greeter.   Devione has multiple learning and medical disabilities that have not affected his warm manner and cheerful disposition.    It is these very traits that make him an excellent candidate for training as a Greeter.

The nineteen year old received his entire schooling at the special needs center and is at the stage where his facilitators believe he can be trained to function in regular employment. For Devione, however, it does not seem like work as he stands to shake each hand with gusto. Devione also greets at the Rotary Club of Tortola’s Thursday meetings. The Center has had prior success placing students in full employment and is hopeful that Devione too will be recognized for his potential and given the opportunity to work.
