Creativity & Flexibility Key to Membership Goals

Past District Governor (7020) Rupert W. Ross, Jr. delivered an inspiring message as guest speaker at our August 13 meeting.  PDG Rupert, who hails from St. Croix, spoke extensively about growing the Rotary family in the BVI, membership retention and a new Rotary International objective to promote satellite clubs.

PDG Rupert expressed the view that another District Governor should come from the BVI soon, encouraging Rotarians not to be daunted by the challenges.  PDG Vance Lewis, a Past President of our club, became the first Rotarian from the BVI to hold the coveted post of District Governor between 2012-2013.

Among the visiting BVI Rotarians for PDG Rupert's address were Delma Maduro, Assistant District Governor and Past President of the Rotary Club of Tortola;  Henry Creque, President of Rotary Club of Tortola;   Mrs. Lorna Smith, OBE, Past President, Rotary Club of Tortola;  and Mrs. Jeanette Scatliffe Boynes, President Elect, Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town.
