Interact Club of Road Town Observes World Interact Week

The Interact Club of Road Town observed World Interact Week with a number of activities during the period 30th October - 7th November, 2011.
During the week of 30th
October to 6th November, Interactors around the world celebrated
World Interact Week, and the Interactors in the Interact Club of Road Town were
no exception.
Starting off the week,
two Interactors, Kimberly and Jovel assisted the Rotary Clubs with distribution
of dictionaries to students in class 3 in all schools in the BVI. Kimberly and
Jovel accompanied Director Charles Crane to the Enis Adams Primary school on
Monday 31st October, 2011.
On
Tuesday 1st November,2011 Interact President Shereen King presided
over the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Road Town. Several members of the Interact club spoke
about why they joined Interact, and what being a member means to them. Prospective member Kelsha Fortune talked about
the coming Run for a Cause in which Interact was partnering with the Diabetes
Association. President Shereen also made
a presentation on Diabetes.
On Saturday 5th
November, 2011 three members of the Interact Club, PR Director Robyn Edmondson
and Interactors Stacy France and Jovel Warrican made an appearance on Rotary
Radio which is aired on Z-ROD (103.7FM).
Rotary Radio is a one hour radio program which airs monthly on ZROD. The
Interactors spoke on why they joined
Interact, the types of activities the Club undertakes and the benefits they
have experienced. They made special
mention of the Club’s support and
participation in the Run for a Cause on Saturday 12th November, 2011.
Mention was also made of the Club’s
participation in the upcoming 50th Annual National Parks Also
present at Rotary Radio was Past President Richard Parsons who lead a
discussion on the Rotary Foundation.
Also on the evening
of 5th November, 2011 a few members of the Interact and Rotaract
Clubs engaged in a friendly bowling match at UP’s Cineplex.:
On Sunday 6th
November, 201 16 members of Interact accompanied by Public Relations Director Tiffany
R. Scatliffe and New Generations Director Charles Crane of the Rotary Club of
Road Town attended and participated in service at the Christian Faith Academy
in Botanic Station.
Other events that
were planned for the week including reading to students at the Esslyn Richez
learning centre, a membership drive at Cedar School and a day trip to Virgin
Gorda were postponed due to bad weather.
It Is hoped that they will be rescheduled to take place in the near
future.
