On Tuesday 27th September, President of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Yvonne Crabbe stepped aside and handed over control of their weekly luncheon meeting to President Shereen King of the Interact Club of Road Town and her Board of Officers.

After dispensing with the administrative affairs of the Rotary Club, President Shereen, in a confident presentation set out her plans for the Interact Club for the 2011/12 year, supported by several of her officers. Club Service Director, Tamara Caesar set out her plans to launch a project to make the public aware of the dangers of texting whilst driving, in a campaign to stop this practice. International Services Director, Keon Smith explained that one of his major objectives was to support Rotary’s drive to eradicate Polio from the world, noting that Rotary was now close to meeting the challenge from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to raise $200 million by July 2012. Public Relations Director Robyn Edmondson advised that she intended to ensure that the activities of the Club were fully reported in the local media. Vice President Altisha Crandall set out her vision for Interact as she prepares to take over the President’s role in July 2012.
