Saturday 29 September 2012 was a busy day for the Rotary Family of the BVI.  It started out early in the morning with the second of four races in the H Lavity Stoutt Community College Highland Spring series.   Teams from four Clubs participated.  Rotary Club of Tortola, Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town, Rotaract Club of Tortola and our very own Rotary Club of Road Town.   The two mile cross country race that included a hillside challenge proved a great way to get the adrenalin pumping for those brave enough to  register (….and finish).

The Rotary Club of Tortola showed its might and finished with a convincing win. Not to be fazed, the Rotary Club of Road Town has already regrouped and re-strategized, graciously allowing the Tortola Club to enjoy what we are sure will be a short lived victory. The remaining two races which will be held on 13 October 2012 and 10 November 2012 will tell the final tale.

Putting all that serious stuff aside, the venue then shifted to the nearby Long Bay Beach on Beef Island where Rotarians, their families and guests were to partake in a day of fellowship, food and fun Caribbean style. The day was well spent with accommodating weather, entertainment, games and good company… all another reminder of why being a Rotarian is so rewarding.
