District Governor Paul Brown Visits

The Rotary Family of the BVI will welcome District Governor Paul Brown  and Mrs Kay Brown to our shores tomorrow Saturday 1 November.

The 2014/2015 District Governor who hails from Jamaica will be in the Territory from 1 – 7 November.  DG Paul will attend a joint meeting of the three Rotary Clubs on Wednesday 5 November and hold conference with board members of the Rotary Clubs as well as the Rotaract and Interact executives at various other times.   He will then hit the road to visit some of the projects undertaken by the clubs.  

 

DG Paul has chosen the theme “Inspire Youth, Build Rotary” for the District 7020 Rotary Year 2014/2015.   Clubs are encouraged to develop and execute projects inkeeping with this theme.  

 

Despite his busy schedule there will be plenty time for DG Paul to socialise and members are encouraged to come out and show our DG a warm BVI welcome.

 

 

About DG Paul

DG Paul (also known as Dr. Paul Brown, MBBS, DM (Surgery), FRCS) is a Cornwall College alumnus and a past student of the University of the West Indies, Mona where he studied Medicine.  

 

He graduated with honours and received a post-graduate scholarship to Edinburgh gaining the designation, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

 

On his return to Jamaica he worked at several hospitals, eventually establishing roots at the Spanish Town Hospital. There he worked in the capacity as Senior Medical Officer and was also responsible for the establishment of the Surgical Department.

 

In the true spirit of service beyond self, Paul joined the Rotary Club and has held several positions including past President of the Spanish Town Rotary Club and Assistant District Governor of Jamaica.
