Young Writers Accept The Challenge

The Rotary Club of Road Town Joined with Rotary Sunrise of Road Town and Rotary Club of Tortola on Friday 26 September to launch the Butterfly Storybook competition for young writers.  

The Butterfly Storybook competition is organised by Rotary E-Club of the Caribbean 7020, and is open to all children aged 7-11 in the ten Caribbean islands that comprise district 7020.  It is introduced and administered on each island by resident Rotary clubs such as Road Town and Sunrise.   

The competition's launching took place at the St Georges Primary school to the eager, young, budding writers, and will similarly be taken to the other primary schools in the territory. 

Participants are required to submit a Caribbean themed story of 300-750 words which highlights the merits performing good deeds and doing the right thing.  

Three local winners will be selected, who will receive certificates.   Then a panel of judges from the e-club will choose 10 stories from among the winners Caribbean wide, to include in "The Butterfly StoryBook” which will be PUBLISHED.  The Butterfly StoryBooks for 2013 and 2014 are currently being  sold on Amazon.Com.  Each young author who is published will receive $50 in books.
