Jess Socrates and his wife Liz are back from a one-month trip to the Philippines. While they were visiting the Philippines, they held another CAMP BRAVEHEART. The first one last February was well received by the children and their parents. It was a fun-filled day for the children. Their reactions and comments after the event convinced Jess and Luz that they should do this again, perhaps even regularly.
- The event was sponsored by Phi Kappa Mu International, Phi Lambda Delta International and Works of Mercy Foundation. Funds covered a catered meal, with drinks and dessert. Also paid for were two clowns who entertained the children, snacks, goody bags and rental of the Plenary hall.
- Dr. Jeff and Edna Bernstein sponsored the T-shirts, baseball caps and tote bags. Edna is the grand-aunt of one of the children repaired during the early stages of Operation Braveheart
- Works of Mercy Foundation and the Rotary Club of Makati Southeast stuffed the tote bags with chocolate bars, cookies, candies, cereal bars, school needs, soap, toothpaste, etc.
They tried to contact as many children as possible. Many of the phone numbers listed had already been discontinued. Around twenty patients, mostly children attended. All children were given an "Operation Braveheart" T-shirt and name badge to wear during the event. They went home with goodies in "Operation Braveheart" tote bags.
Three of the 20 patients are featured with their personal thank you notes.
