New Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Oakville West
A round of introductions was conducted by the members of the Rotary Club of Oakville West, who are officially merging their club with ours.
Announcements:
a) Karla announced that the Passport Rotary Club of Oakville will host a "Plant Swap" event this Sunday, July 13th, at Coronation Park from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Bring a plant and take a plant—let's work together to make Oakville greener! The event is free, and you are welcome to bring any healthy plants, cuttings, or seeds. If you are available to volunteer at the event, please email leeanna.tieu@gmail.com with your preferences. We still need volunteers to help with registration, the plant tables, the raffle team, carpool drivers, and clean-up.
b) Ralf communicated that the next Rotary volunteer session at Global Medic is scheduled for this Saturday, July 12th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at 1494 Wallace Rd, Oakville (at the southeast corner of Third Line and Speers, back entrance). Please contact Jon Davey at 647.891.7498 if you have any questions.
c) Ralf also announced that he has heard back from Rotary International, confirming the merger of the two clubs! Hip hip hooray!
d) Adriana shared that her OMHS fundraising webpage is now up and running. As we know, Adriana has kindly volunteered to represent our club at the "Prancing with the Stars" event organized by the OMHS, which will take place this November. She is calling on the club to support her in her efforts to raise $7,000 for the Humane Society. e) Mitch confirmed that this year's annual BBQ will take place on July 25th. Stay tuned for more details!

Fine Master/Happy Bucks: Mike Fisher
Mike Fisher did an excellent job as the Master of Happy Bucks and fines. He organized a fun "Canada History" quiz in celebration of Canada Day, which included some interesting nicknames. Thank you, Mike, that was enjoyable!
Lynn was delighted that her entire family joined her today to celebrate the first day of her term as our President. Congratulations, Lynn!
Reena was happy to announce that our Club's Google profile is now verifiable. A special thank you to Mike Henry for his contributions to making this possible. This is fantastic news!
Former members of RCO WEST expressed their gratitude and excitement for the merger of the two clubs. We are all thrilled to have you here and can't wait to get to know you better!
Mitch expressed his appreciation for the past year as President and shared his excitement for what lies ahead under Lynn's leadership. He also wanted to recognize James Montague for all his efforts during the 100-year celebrations and for everything he has done for Rotary.
President Mitch’s message and End-of-Term report
Mitch reflected on the conclusion of his term and expressed gratitude for all that was accomplished. He presented a summary report highlighting several key points:
- The impact of the Club by Committee
- A growth in membership with the addition of 12 new members
- The merger of RCO West and RCO
- Increased transparency among the four boards within the Club
- The successful 100 Years celebrations, which included participation from all Clubs in Oakville
Mitch then welcomed Lynn as the new President of our Club.
President Lynn's Message
Lynn expressed her gratitude to Mitch for all the work he has done for the Club. In recognition of his contributions over the past year, she presented him with a thoughtful gift and a plaque.
While at the Calgary convention, Lynn realized the importance of keeping our 4-Way Test relevant. She will share more about her plans for the coming year shortly.
Lynn concluded by making a toast to friends and Rotarians around the world, after which the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
