Incoming President for the 2026–2027 Rotary year, Colin Scobie endorsed Rotary International's theme, "Create Lasting Impact," during his address at the Rotary Club's annual Changeover Luncheon held at the Moreton Bay Boat Club 0n Thursday, July16.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including the State member for Redcliffe, Kerri-Anne Dooley, the Federal member for Petrie, Emma Comer MP, Rotary District 9620 Governor Ian Hope, Assistant District Governor Monica Fraser, club members and representatives from Rotary clubs across the region.
In outlining his vision for the year ahead, Mr Scobie highlighted the club's recently completed strategic plan, which identified six key priorities: membership growth, fundraising, environmental initiatives, youth development, public image, and collaboration with community partners and fellow Rotary clubs.
The luncheon also recognised outstanding service by club members. John Kelly was named "Rotarian of the Year" in recognition of his dedication and commitment throughout the past year.
Outgoing President Paul Harcombe received a special award acknowledging his exceptional service and commitment to Rotary's ideal of "Service Above Self" and his significant contribution to the local community.
The Changeover Luncheon marked the official transition of leadership and set the direction for another year of community service, fellowship, and positive impact across the region.
