3rd and 4th May 2025 was again a milestone in turtle awareness on the edge of Moreton Bay Marine Park [MBMP] Queensland.
This year the turtle environmental awareness stretched out to a two day event - not only incorporating the Queens Beach North location Scarborough, where turtle previously hatched - but the second day featured guest speakers the likes of Prof Col Limpus - who set up Mon Repos Turtle Rookery at Bargara - nearby Bundaberg.
The second day was held at the Komo Hotel Redcliffe where we had the local MP -Kerrie Anne Dooley open the second day turtle symposium on behalf of the QLD Environment Minister Hon Andrew Powell MP.
Following the 3rd and 4th May weekend turtle symposium, Division 5 Cr Sandra Ruck made mention at the following council meeting 7th May of the ESRAG / Rotary club's activity in support of the environment
The Komo line up of speakers on the Sunday the 4th May was impressive and the program follows.
