Model Trains

Harold Grant talked to the club about model trains and the Lionel Company. Founder Joshua Lionel Cowen designed his first train, the Electric Express, not as a toy, but as an eye-catching display for stores. The ideas and concept soon took off in the early 1900’s.

Harold explained the differences between the different types of model trains and tracks, along with stories of failure and success of the company and hobby.
