Members Work The Corner at ML King Boulevard
Club members, a member's spouse and two students from Grand Blanc High School joined forces to pull weeds, rake and clip dead plants and bushes at the corner of ML King Boulevard and Fifth Avenue last Saturday. After a good three hour work session, the area looked much better and you could actually see the Juniper bushes! Thanks especially to Tom Crampton for diving in head first (literally) and finding and pulling out weeds, trash and leaves from the center of the island (wow - what a job)!
Also - special thanks to Alexander and Mattie (our two high school students) and Madonna Bennett for the great job they did in helping us!
Carol Hartley will keep us posted on the next phase of work at the location and a date for the next work session (we're hoping to get mulch to put around the beds).
Members who participated included Jeff Bennett, Bruce Bradley, Carol Hartley, Tom Crampton, Kay Schwartz, Ginger Virkler, John Sundwick and Harold Grant.
We got many "thank-you's" from drivers and pedestrians and the Sunrise Rotary banner was waving proudly at the site!
