Steven Miesowicz, Senior Director for Human Resources and Government Relations, shared Diplomat's plans for expansion in the City of Flint.  Diplomat recently purchased 340,000 square feet of the Great Lakes Technology Center and has plans to increase their employee count from 420 to over 1000 (in the next several years).

Diplomat Pharmacy is the largest privately held specialty pharmacy in Michigan and is celebrating 35 years in business this year.  Founder Dale Hagerman started the pharmacy in 1975 and turned over the reigns to son Phil (now President and CEO) in 1991.  The pharmacy prides itself in being "high touch" with its customers and employs a variety of positions - from licensed practical nurses to call center representatives.  With seven locations across the country, Diplomat has plans to someday add a location in Texas and New York.

The Great Lakes Technology Center will serve as the pharmacy's distribution hub.  Their goal is to try and attract other high tech life sciences businesses to their 340,000 ft locale.
