The Rotary Club of Greater Flint Sunrise seeks to support the development and retention of community youth who demonstrate leadership qualities and community involvement. The club awarded 3 area graduating seniors with $1,000 scholarships at the June 19th 2013 meeting:

Eli Ward graduated from Davison high School where he was involved with band and other musical programs. He has volunteered over 140 hours with various local charities. He will be attending Kettering University to study Bio Chemistry and will be attending medical school in the future.

Trevor Gaby graduated from Bentley High School where he played football as well as volunteering his time with The Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, and youth group mission trips. He will be attending Mott Community College to receive an Associate in Computer Aid and Design, then transferring to a 4year school to study Mechanical Engineering.

D’Asia Jackson graduated from Beecher High School as number 2 in her class where she was involved with volleyball, softball, and cheerleading.  She has volunteered at the North End Soup Kitchen and youth retreats. She enjoys helping others and will be attending Mott Community College to study Respiratory Therapy.
