The twelve schools on St. Thomas-St. John and about the same number on St. Croix enrolled. There were more parents, teachers, and students involved than ever before.  Every Rotarian can be proud to know that Rotary II continues to play a vital role in encouraging math excellence in our students.

The MATHCOUNTS program continues to generate great interest and excitement among students, parents, teachers, and education officials in the Virgin Islands.  On February 24th, Junior High School students on St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix, with coaches (teachers) and some parents in tow, converged on Palms Court Harborview on St. Thomas and the Country Day Pavilion on St. Croix to outdo one another in excelling in Math.

It was extremely gratifying to see the degree of enthusiasm, the number of students involved, and anticipate the long term benefits that will surely result from their participation.

At the end of the day, on St. Thomas,  it was

the team from Antilles School as the winner, with extremely close competition from

the team from Bertha C. Boschulte School, in second place, followed by

the team from Addelita Cancryn School, followed by

the team from Montessori School, followed by

the team from All Saints School, that emerged as the leading teams in the St. Thomas-St. John District, and in the St. Croix District, it was

the team from Country Day School as the winner, followed by

the team from Good Hope School, in second place, followed by

the team from Arthur Richards School in third place, followed by

the team from Elena Christian School in fourth place, followed by
