Why should I care about contributing to Polio Plus?
Remember when you were a youngster standing in line to get your polio vaccine?

You probably didn’t view it as a big deal. It was just another one of those shots or drops you had to endure in order to complete your school registration requirements. When something comes to us as a general course of action, we often take it for granted. Because of the polio vaccine you took as a youngster, you most likely don’t have polio and don’t know anyone who has polio.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for millions of children in impoverished countries around the world. For those children, polio is a “general course of action” because they have no access to the polio vaccine. After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease. Rotary needs one final strong push to root polio out in its entirety. Your contribution to Polio Plus can nudge that “final strong push” into reality. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high. So, the next time you ask yourself the question, “Why should I care about contributing to Polio Plus?” Here’s your answer, “…to help change the world!”
