Why I Became A Rotarian...PP Berisford Lynch
PP Berisford Lynch shared his reason for joining Rotary II. Fourteen years ago, PP Beris was invited by PP Al LaBorde to Rotary, and at the first meeting he enjoyed the segment with the Sergeant-at-Arms, and was impressed by the laughter and camaraderie that the group had. He was invited back a second time and the membership welcomed him; they knew who he was, and saw that he was a young upcoming business person. It was not long after that, that he was invited to become a member.
At the time that he joined Rotary he was one of the youngest members in the Club, and his first assignment was to chair a project at our Adopted School. Here he experienced more of the camaraderie of Rotarians. He especially liked the feeling that when Rotarians got together, they worked for a common cause for the betterment of their community--the reward that you receive is not monetary, but it is the good feeling of appreciation from the community that is the real reward. As he learned more of Rotary, he was more appreciative of the good things that Rotary does. He also stated that he likes to serve, and being a part of Rotary II is one of the highlights of his life.
