Why I Became a Rotarian...Jerry Smith
Jerry Smith has been practicing physical therapy for five years and knew that he wanted to go in business, but did not realize that the business side of things would take over the treating people part. For the time that he has been in practice, he noticed that it didn't leave any time for anything else.
In April 2010 PP Simon spoke to hm about joining Rotaract as a means of getting involved in the community and being proactive; however, it turned out that he was too old for Rotaract. He was invited to join Rotary and his first thought was he didn't want to hang out with old folks. Upon attending a meeting, he quickly realized that the group was not what he thought. He found out that it was a fun group which did a lot for the community and this was a group that he could join. He claims that age does not matter to him, since his definition of old is: activity, state of mind, and general direction in life. Rotarian Jerry said that given the limited time that he has, Rotary gives him the opportunity to do his part for the greater good.
