For the Tattler's Year in Review I asked DGE Diana White:
What was one thing that Rotary II did this year that touched your heart or inspired you or amazed you ?
Good to hear from you. This is a tough question - and I have not spent quite so much time with your club this year because of my other duties. However, here goes:
St. Thomas II is one of the strongest clubs in
USVI
North. I have always considered it is largely due to the traditions and systems set in place many years ago which have withstood the test of time. While change is inevitable, the pillars on which Rotary II has been built have been strong enough to accept and to move with the change while staying true to the fundamental creed of the club. This is also illustrated in the long term projects and programs the club undertakes and builds on year by year.
If there is one example that I see which has moved forward this year it is the weekly radio program which reaches every member of our community. I believe
that this year
, R.E.A.C.H has attained a new level of professionalism and cooperation so that, while Rotary II is very much the architect of the format, it has become a "Rotary Product" offered generously to all those associated in any way with the Rotary family.
The program illustrates all aspects of the Four Way Test, and Rotary II "Lead The Way", "Shared Rotary", Has Made Some Dreams Real" and has shown how the "Future Can Be in the Hands of Rotarians". As we move into next year, the weekly program will "Build Communities" of listeners and help to "Bridge Continents" with news of the world of
Rotary.
