VI Chess Students Win Big in Florida
Posted by Ida White
There is wonderful news from Rotarian Sinclair Wilkinson about the performance of the VI chess students who traveled to Florida to compete in the US Chess Federation Scholastic Tournament. Not only did they win. They won big!
The team placed first in all three categories:
1st (tie) for best team overall
1st place for winning averages for players under 800 ratings
1st place for winning averages for players under 1000 ratings
They also won 1st place for the best named team
"Our players returned with practically all of the trophies. I felt
guilty that we were taking everything. Great!!! Great!!! Great!!!" ~Rotarian Sinclair Wilkinson, Team Coach
Rotary II is very proud of our strong support of these students to go to competition and thank our GREAT partner in this effort, The Prior Family Foundation.
