Solar Systems, LLC....Overview
David Barber, Director of Project Development of Solar Systems, LLC made a presentation to Rotary II on December 29, 2010 outlining how one can save on the cost of electricity by using solar water heaters.
He noted that there is a program with the Department of Energy, WAPA and Government Development Bank wherein one can get solar water heaters at no upfront cost. Solar Systems, LLC will send a professional inspector to your home to determine which is the best water heater for you. The cost ranges from $3,500 to $5,000 and Solar Systems, LLC will assist you in filling out the paperwork for the Department of Energy, and also assist with the installation of the solar water heater. The warranty on the installation is 5 years, and the warranty on the water heater is 10 years. Department of Energy will issue a loan for ½ cost of water heater, and the other half will be a loan from WAPA. The loan will be repaid at no more than $50 monthly from the savings that you get on your WAPA bill as a result of installing the solar water heater. It is estimated that changing over from an electric water heater to a solar water heater will save you from 20% to 30% of your electric bill.
He noted that he has received feedback from customers attesting to the fact that solar water heaters work better than electric water heaters.
