August is Membership Extension Month! Expect a continued emphasis on membership development throughout the month. Don't forget to get your 2009-2010 membership directory and membership cards 1st thing on Wednesday or directly after our meeting.
The membership directory allows us all to stay in close contact particularly during the Hurricane Season and your membership card is your gateway to any Rotary meeting around the world - a joy of Rotary!
I'm sure most of you have heard the term "Makeups" but you might not be exactly sure what they are. If you are unable to attend a weekly meeting, plan to participate in a service project or two for the month. Keeping me informed of your participation can serve as an attendance credit. While traveling, you are encouraged to visit clubs in the area to make up a missed meeting. You can also perform a makeup activity on www.rotaryeclubone.org.
Please remember it is a tradition of our club to see members celebrating a birthday, early and eager, at our meeting entrance, greeting Rotarians and guests, ensuring that our members and visitors always feel welcomed and anxious to return. And of course, you'll receive lots of birthday well wishes (smile)! Donating a birthday check for the amount of years you are celebrating is also part of our tradition. If you have been a Rotarian for less than 3 years, email me your birth day so that you can take part. (charlotte.brownramos@firstbankvi.com). You deserve to be celebrated!
