ROTARY SHARES LITERACY
Last week PP Cheryl George-Chance reminded us that this Rotary Year deserving club projects will receive the "7020 Literacy Award". Clubs will be required to follow guidelines established for the award and to properly report literacy projects to the Literacy District Chair. Award winning projects will be shared with the District and Rotary International.
"I know that clubs are busy conducting literacy projects... I have received project information from Haiti, Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands." PP Cheryl serves as District 7020's Literacy Chair and Youth and Friendship Exchange Chair. RI's Literacy Resource Group provides information and support to Rotary clubs and districts to encourage particpation in programs and projects that promote universal literacy and educational opportunities for all. I encourage you to vistit the RI Literacy Resource Group web pages at: www.rotary.org/aboutrotary/president/boyd/literacy.html.
