At last week's meeting, Vivian Cubano de Crites was our guest speaker.  Her very interesting presentation was on random drug testing in the marine industry.  Thanks again Vivian!

As usual, Eloi and Rosetta George coordinated the Saturday soup kitchen at the Bethlehem House. Rotarian Bob Kirkpatrick, the family of Rotarian Barbara Petersen and my family and I chipped in. More to come on this in our next issue.

On Monday, our club co-sponsored A Model United Nations Conference with UVI's Humanities and Social Sciences Divisions and Rotary Club of St. Croix Harborside, Rotary Club of St. Croix West, Rotary Club of Charlotte Amalie and Rotary Club of St. Thomas. Present from our club was Rotarian and President Elect Beris Lynch who delivered the invocation and Four Way Test, Rotarian Lorraine Baa who served as a teller, and I served on the panel of judges. Rotarian Simon Caines and District Governor Elect Rupert Ross, Jr. also showed their support.  Among the dignitaries that were present was former U.S. ambassador and St. Thomas native Terence Todman. He commended the MUN coordinators and student participants.  Rotarian Celeste from St. Croix agreed to send me pictures from this event.  UVI's Dr. Kula Francis and STX Rotary Harborside President Sonia Boyce did such an awesome job at bringing this event together.  President Erva's hope is that our club will continue to support the MUN Conference.
