Remembering Rotarian Pat McCoy
On May 30, 2007, Rotarian Patricia "Pat" Hogan McCoy died peacefully at her residence surrounded by close family and friends.
Rotarian Pat was born in 1936 in Paris, Tennessee to Joseph & Louise Hogan. She was the mother of four children: Latricia Gladney, Susan Overman, Fred Durham, and David Durham.
A longtime mortgage banker with FirstBank, Patricia was well known for her community service here in the Virgin Islands. In 2003, Patricia received the Rotarian of the Year Award. Through Rotary service, she delivered wheelchairs to Haiti, served meals at the Bethlehem House Shelter, donated gifts to the Anna's Retreat Senior Citizens and distributed dictionaries to children in our public schools.
She was a founding member of he board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of the VI and recently received its Service Award. She was also a member of the board of the St. Thomas Arts Council, the Navy League, and the St. Thomas Bridge Club.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at 5pm on June 17th at the home of close friends Tom Bolt and Jeni Smith at Morning Star Beach on St. Thomas.
Patricia will be remembered for her quick wit, welcoming southern charm and her love for great laughs and great adventure. We love you Pat!
