Fellow Rotarians and Friends:

We join a saddened international community as we express our condolences to the people of Haiti and everyone else affected by this debilitating disaster.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Haiti along with our hope that the determination and resilience Haitians have often shown will serve them well in the difficult years ahead. I am so very encouraged by the outpouring of international support Haiti has received since the disaster struck. I also remain hopeful that we will not turn away our attention from the country as the weeks and months pass and headlines fade.

Rotarians far and wide have lived out the true meaning of of our motto 'Service Above Self'. From the beginning, we have taken the lead on the ground in Haiti and in our own communities. Throughout our district there are so many relief activities that have begun. From raising funds, to collecting clothing, food, water and other items, Rotarians are leading the way.

Thank you Rotary II for your contributions to this effort. We will continue to collect your contributions for this cause.

Shortly we will join with our sister clubs and Rotaract and announce a coordinated relief campaign. Never have I been more proud to be among you and Rotary.

In Rotary Service,
Simon Kevin Caines
President
