On Saturday November 11th all of the Interact Clubs  and their Rotary sponsors in St. Thomas will be meeting at Antilles School to package and mail school supplies that the clubs have collected . These supplies will be sent to a rural school in northern Namibia where they are greatly needed.

The contact with this school came about as a result of a Eudora Kean teacher, Karen Brown, having participated in a program called World Teach.  Ms. Brown  was sent by World Teach  to be a faculty member at this school in Namibia and created a contact with the Antilles Interact Club when she returned to St. Thomas. She told the Interacters about her experiences and the profound needs for supplies. The Antilles Interacters sent books to the school last year. This year the project was expanded to include supplies and to involve all Interact Clubs. The District Governor will be present to view the culmination of the project as the supplies are packed and mailed on Nov. 11.

ROTARIANS: YOU CAN PARTICIPATE BY BRINGING SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO OUR MEETING EITHER THIS WEEK OR NEXT WEEK SO THAT THEY CAN BE SENT TO NAMIBIA. Pens, pencils, notebooks, calculators, etc. are needed. IF EVERYONE IN OUR CLUB BRINGS SOMETHING TO BE INCLUDED WITH ALL OF THE OTHER CLUB'S CONTRIBUTIONS OUR NAMIBIAN FRIENDS WILL BE QUITE HAPPY.
