Haiti....Chile....Earthquakes, Midwinter Snowstorms, Blizzard conditions, hot weather, cold weather, rain, flooding all at the same time! Is Mother Nature having the "proverbial fit"?
According to Meterologists, the weather has been a little active, but nothing out of the range of normal. Notwithstanding people are under a lot of stress these days from many different facets of life, but nothing is more humbling that acts of nature, which are totally out of our control.
Witness Haiti, and Chili. While Chili suffered the most damaging earthquake recorded in 200 years, their infrastructure it appears is more able to respond effectively, and their recoverey period will kick in a lot sooner than on the island of Haiti. We must not forget their suffering and whenever possible avail ourselves of the opportunity to assist. It is our moral duty, and the Rotarian way.
