CANCRYN CAREER FAIR = SUCCESS
Kudos to Erva, Eric, Cassie, Beris, Mr. B, Rosetta, Eloi, Mike, Annette, and Alma for the steadfast and unwavering support of the Addelita Cancryn Career Fair on November 15, 2007. Their assistance involved planning, presenter recruitment, set-up and break-down functions, assisting presenters with transporting display materials, refreshment donations, exit interview facilitation and providing a positive Rotary 2 presence through interactions with students, teachers and presenters.

The students were "pros" at welcoming and directing presenters to the library, The staff set up a tantalizing refreshment table with pastries and a delectable fruit platter, and the school librarian was extremely professional and helpful assisting us with set up and technical accommodations.
Eleven public, private and non-profit entities participated in the event. A brief overview of each presentation follows. The Department of Tourism and STT/STJ Hotel Association shared a joint display with the distribution of tourism-branded gift bags containing tee shirts and plastic pencil cases with pencils, pencil sharpeners and erasers. WAPA went "all out" distributing wattage-saving light bulbs; presenting an actual meter display demonstrating the importance of observing and conserving light bulb usage, and an actual water distillation demonstration. FLAIR Magazine and Chic Photography shared a joint presentation highlighting photography and graphic arts with the use of hands-on materials and wide computer screens. Penntium Technical Training provided a hands-on demonstration of electrical wiring techniques for technology-based components. The Department of Labor introduced students to a multitude of job opportunities within the
At the end of the event, the President Elect and committee members honored presenters with certificates of appreciation, Four Way Test pens and 2007 Rotary motto pins.
The Daily News covered the event and Rosetta volunteered to prepare an article resulting from an invitation to do so from the VI Source.
Cheers to the Rotary 2 Adopt A School Committee for a job well done!
