Dear President Lorraine:

I was truly touched by the opportunity presented to me to assist Rotary II in their mission to fundraise in their quest to end Polio !  Realizing that Rotarians will observe on October 24th, both World Polio Day and the birthday of Dr. Jonas Salk, who developed the world’s first safe and effective vaccine against this crippling and sometimes deadly disease was quite educational and inspiring!  It expanded my view of Rotarians everywhere and the wonderful work that they do to assist humanity.

The great success of the fundraising event in St. Thomas at your club brought overwhelming compliments of gratitude and appreciation and for that I am truly grateful.   The warmth received from the members of Rotary II has deeply touched my heart.  .

Again, thank you for the opportunity to play such an important role in what I now realize is a priority for Rotarians everywhere. I applaud Rotarians worldwide and would love to be a part of this journey that is on the verge of eradicating one of the most feared diseases of the 20th century.
