Our club should start offering logistical services!

The 40' container, filled with children's books, landed on St. Thomas last month and we had it cleared through customs and paid excise tax.  Then we had it moved to the Marketplace on St. John, where we off-loaded six pallets.  After that, we had it moved to the St. Thomas Curriculum Center, where another fifteen pallets were taken off.  After that, the container went to the old sand fill, where the remaining seventeen pallets were removed and loaded onto the Norma H for their journey south, to St. Croix, where they were then trucked to the STX Curriculum Center.  Phew!  But it all was smooth as glass, and now everyone is sorting books and distributing them to as many kids as we can.
School starts the day after Labor Day and the students at JESS will have a new focus--Dr. Dave Minner had a group of Iowa State students down this summer and the new grow tables are ready to roll.  We can't wait for our first opportunity to taste the wonderful edibles Sprauve students will be growing this year.
