We were happy to have our Best Rotary Friend, Bev Biziewski with us to welcome Davy Turner and Adam English, founders of St. John Valet Waste Services.

These young men intend to develop a waste removal company with curbside services on St. John.  This is a novel concept for us, although pretty much the norm in the lower 48.  In addition to trash removal, they hope to collect recyclables, bulk waste and electronic waste and deliver it all directly to the appropriate location.  We got them to promise to become Rotarians, too!

Alice continues to share her passion for literacy, having met some folks who are part of a network that gives books to libraries and children all over  the world.  We will ask all the USVI clubs to partner with us on this, as it's very possible we will receive one hundred thousand books.  It will take all of us to sort them and get them where they need to go.  What an exciting theme for a party...

We were a happy group, as usual--happy to be here, (sad to leave) happy to have plasterers working, happy to have Alice our Book Queen, happy for Dave and Adam's new endeavor (and wishing them good luck).
