What happened?

Martha Toomey has done non-profit work since 1978 and is the new president of Rescue's board of directors.  Brand new Rotarian, Ian Samuel is vice president, Cindy the pharmacist is secretary and Cassandra the bookkeeper is treasurer.  Rescue's most critical need at this time is a new Jaws of Life--they have $10,000 in hand and need an additional $15,000. 

We welcomed Joe and Thommy, Rotarians from Pennsylvania (who had already bought tickets to the Blues concert!).  Some of their fundraisers include a chicken barbeque, a horseshoe contest and a car show. 

We were delighted to induct our two newest Rotarians--Ian and Simone Samuel--who bring youth  and life to our club.

April 1st we were all still rocking from the Blues Blow Out, we reviewed the event and came up with more ideas for next year.  Ian and Simone voiced a complaint we have all heard at one time or another, "What happened to all the people who had volunteered to help?"  The promoters already have $10,000 in hand for next year's concert and with more promotion and a great plan to include any 501(c)(3) organization willing to sell tickets, next year will be even better. 

AND OUR JESS BASKETBALL TEAM (WITH ROTARY JERSEYS) WON THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP!!  We are so proud of them.

In addition, a JESS student was again a winner if the District 7020 Butterfly Storybook competition.
