The club is so happy to have Patrick Pearson back, after his ankle surgery kept him away for far too long.  Everyone, members and guests, joined in a lively discussion of projects we can do to really make a difference on St. John and in the world.  Some of the suggestions are:
The Star of Life needs pillows and sheets and blankets
St. John still has curbs that aren’t wheelchair friendly, and we could work with tourism to have those fixed.
Recycling in every aspect of our lives, including reviving our cotton bag program, getting separate bins for recyclables and working with the STJ Community Foundation and VI Waste Management
Swimming lessons for kids, dealing with instructors, locations and transportation (in Iceland you can’t start school if you don’t know how t swim)

Developing a Literacy Council on St. John, for adults and youth.
Using recycled frying oil in the Star of Life so people aren’t overwhelmed by the diesel fumes
And buying a barge!!!

There were lots of happy people, with all happy dollars going t Polio Plus:  Happy for the favorite St. John month, for the son who worked through the holidays and never got sick, happy to have a daughter here, happy to go to college even though it means leaving home, happy to be back, happy to connect with St. Johnians, happy Mom moved here, happy 2016 is over and happy for a great list!
