Eating at The Lemon Grass Restaurant  last Wednesday was a real treat.

Past meeting was a very interesting meeting full of information and good food oh and the drinks weren't bad either. Our speaker was Janelle K. Sarauw who brought eye opening information about how the V.I. community can be that change Rotary all around the world is trying to accomplish. Janelle spoke about her time coaching volleyball and trying to be that consistency that the youth of today need to succeed. If we as Rotary/a community give away books we need to follow up and make sure the children/ students know how to read those books, if they don't then help them read those books- to be consistent in our giving. Make yourself know after the fact of giving, don't just give items-give time. As Janelle eloquently put "No man is an island by himself". Here is a fun flashback fact- back in 2002 her volleyball team got to attend a tournament that they had no way of paying for but because of the generosity of Rotary members at a weekly meeting at Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas their whole trip was paid for from just attending the meeting and talking about their club. Because Janelle and her team were able to atend that tournament she got a full Volleyball scholarship to college because scouts were there. Along the same line of giving-Dr. Cool is donating what they are calling "The Cool School", which is them giving and installing new air conditioning units for the Cafeteria and the administrative office Of the Julius Sprauve School. Please join us for this week's meeting at the Lemon Grass where our speaker will be Dr. Alan Platt, a chiropractic doctor who will give pointers on good body stretching techniques. Who knows you might be the one to show the whole club how to stretch properly.
