With barely a month in office, new St. John Administrator Camile Paris, Jr. is already working hard for St. John.  He has the police walking around Cruz Bay instead of driving or sitting in their cars, has cleaned and locked Guy Benjamin School (until its future has been determined), is working on making part of Cruz Bay beach a swim area, and has requested a complete list of St. John property owned by the government from Property and Procurement.  Many topics were discussed in a lively meeting including Port Authority's idea to make the gravel parking lot a paid parking area (we suggested he have VIPA talk to residents about THAT idea!), the yet again inaccurate property tax valuations for St. John, and getting community sponsorship for youth programs outside of school.  They have already visited with Gifft Hill School students and are meeting with JESS students soon to determine their wants and needs for programs.
Sharon reported that the Coral Bay basketball court old bleachers have been removed and paving will start as soon as DPW Commissioner ok's VI Paving's contribution of asphalt as satisfying part of their EDC requirements.
There was discussion on the Egbert Marsh Trust's land donation to Coral Bay, and how best to use the property.
