What Happened?

We started the meeting backwards, hearing from our Rotary scholar, Nyree Doway. Nyree just finished her first year of school in New Jersey and is still wondering about that zero degree weather. She loves her school and has made many friends.

President Alecia arrived a little late, having met our guest speaker at the 0730 boat from Red Hook. Charmaine Alexander embodies what the VI can do so well...she attended school on St. Thomas and college at Morgan State in Baltimore (Bachelors) and then Johns Hopkins and Towsend U (Masters) in Information Technology. She has traveled all over the world for the Department of Defense and her stories were riviting.

Shakeema Jones ended the backwards meeting by singing (like an angel) our VI anthem. We all sang along, albeit quietly, in awe of her voice.

And we were a happy group--for the song, for our guests, for finally selling a Vermont house, and for polio plus almost being there.
