What Happened?

What a fun gathering we had at Fish Trap restaurant, with nine guests, one visiting Rotarian and forty-seven Interact members!  The kids were great and St. Clair Wilkenson of Rotary St. Thomas, 2 brought Deja Wallace of Adelita Cancryn’s Interact club to read her prize-winning essay on the four way test—how it has impacted her life and how she embraces it every day.

Our three St. John Interact presidents each addressed the group—Joel from JESS was proud of his group, he learned how to conduct meetings and interact (!) with students from other schools; Leanna from Guy Benjamin was proud they gave Thanksgiving baskets out, hosted a haunted house and learned about community involvement and giving;  Jasheena from Gifft Hill was proud of their canned food drive and Christmas gifts.  These clubs are all  creative and are going to continue to make a difference on St. John.

St. Clair Wilkenson told us that Interact started in Melbourne, FL with 23 kids.  Now there are 15,000 clubs with 400,000 members across the world!

President Joan, President-Elect Alecia and Rotarian Ann pinned all forty-seven Interact members, many of whom signed up to paint the helipad.  NPS Brion explained about paid trail crew jobs for 15-18 year olds this summer.

A grand time was had by all.  Our thanks go to Aaron and Lisa Willis at Fish Trap, for a wonderful lunch.
